LADIES SUPPORTIN’ LADIES.

There are a lot of things that I love that The Princess and the Frog did (finally a black princess! finally a REAL STILL-ALIVE MOM!) but my favorite is always Tiana and Charlotte and their amazing friendship. Tiana loves her so dearly and Charlotte is so supportive and caring of Tiana! BEST FOREVER.

Seriously, look at those top two gifs and IF YOU DON’T FEEL ALL THE FEELINGS, I don’t know what to even do.

#best part of princess and the frog: SHE HAD A LADY BESTIE #and an alive mom!

For once I love that there is a rich friend who isn’t stuck up and is very caring.

And genuinely caring, not patronizing.

"If you let one (truant student) run loose, what are you gonna’ do with the rest of ‘em? Let them go too?"  -

Houston judge Lanny Moriarty • On his decision to sentence a 17-year-old honor student, who (since her parents divorced and both skipped town) has had to work both a full and a part time job just to support two siblings, to spend a day in jail, after she missed school recently. Diane Tran, who also takes dual-credit college-level courses, says that she’s often so tired that she finds it difficult to wake up for school. But that didn’t sway Moriarty, who chose to make an example of Tran. If you think this sucks, we direct you to this Change.org petition.

To the parents and judge; What The Fuck??

This is some pure fuck shit. You know good and damn well this was overkill. And now that is going to follow her the rest of her life. And for what? So you can feel high and mighty.

"Though no one would ever think of using the term honor violence (we reserve that descriptor for brown people who live somewhere else, motivated by religious something-or-other or tribal something-or-other), one-third of women murdered every year in the United States are killed by their intimate partners. In 2005 that amounted to 1,181 women, or three women every day. To put that in perspective, the UN estimates there are 5,000 honor killings every year in the entire world. 5,000 in a world of 6 billion versus nearly 1,200 in a single country of 300 million. In other words, a woman in America runs a greater risk of being killed by her husband or boyfriend than a woman in Pakistan."  -

250,000 Filipinos served and fought in WWII. Despite their sacrifice, the U.S. passed the Rescission Act of 1946, denying Filipino servicemen formal veteran status with benefits. The Act stated that Filipinos “shall not be deemed to be or to have been of service in the military or national forces of the United States or any component thereof or any law of the United States conferring rights, privileges or benefits.” Approximately 66,000 other foreign WWII soldiers were granted the status of United States veteran. Only Filipinos were denied the honor. (x)
